The LMR50410XDBVR is a Texas Instruments AEC-Q100 Grade 0 qualified synchronous buck converter supporting 4 V to 40 V input and 0.5 A output current. With only 16 µA operating quiescent current and 1.5 µA shutdown current, it is optimized for automotive always-on systems where battery drain must be minimized. The device integrates both high-side and low-side MOSFETs, requires no external compensation, and operates at 1 MHz or 2.2 MHz switching frequency. The Grade 0 qualification supports junction temperatures up to 150°C, making it suitable for under-hood automotive applications. The SOT-23-6 package provides a minimal PCB footprint.

The LMR50410 operates as a synchronous peak-current-mode buck converter with integrated power MOSFETs. During the on-phase, the high-side NMOS connects the input to the inductor, ramping up inductor current. During the off-phase, the low-side NMOS synchronous rectifier provides a low-loss path for inductor current. Peak-current-mode control compares the peak inductor current with the error amplifier output to regulate the output voltage. Internal compensation eliminates external compensation components. At light loads, the device enters pulse-frequency modulation (PFM) mode to maintain high efficiency by skipping switching cycles. The frequency foldback feature reduces switching frequency during dropout conditions to maintain regulation.
