The LM224DR is a quad operational amplifier from Texas Instruments, consisting of four independent high-gain internally frequency compensated operational amplifiers. Designed to operate from a single power supply over a wide range of voltages (3V to 32V), it can also operate from split supplies. The device features low power consumption, making it suitable for battery-powered applications. Each amplifier has a typical gain bandwidth product of 1.2 MHz and a slew rate of 0.5 V/us, providing adequate performance for most general-purpose signal conditioning applications.

The LM224DR integrates four independent op-amps, each employing a standard voltage-feedback architecture. **Input Stage**: A differential pair with PNP transistors provides the wide common-mode input range that includes ground (in single-supply operation). The input bias current is typically 45 nA flowing out of the input pins. **Gain Stage**: A high-gain voltage amplifier stage with internal compensation capacitor provides a gain-bandwidth product of 1.2 MHz and ensures unconditional stability with unity-gain feedback. **Output Stage**: A Class AB push-pull output stage can source and sink tens of milliamps, with short-circuit current limiting. The output swings to within approximately 1.5V of the negative rail under load. **Bias Network**: A shared bias network across all four amplifiers minimizes total quiescent current.
