The JW5033H from JoulWatt is an 18V/2A synchronous buck converter with integrated dual N-Channel MOSFETs, 500kHz switching frequency, and up to 95% efficiency in a SOT23-6 package.

The JW5033H uses current-mode control to regulate the output voltage. The high-side MOSFET switches on to energize the inductor, then switches off while the low-side synchronous MOSFET provides the inductor current return path, eliminating the need for an external Schottky diode. Current-mode control provides tight load transient response and cycle-by-cycle current limit. At light loads, the regulator operates in low-frequency mode to maintain high efficiency.
