The GRM188R71C104KA01D is a multi-layer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) with X7R dielectric. Multiple dielectric layers are interleaved with internal electrodes and co-fired to create a monolithic structure. The X7R dielectric provides stable capacitance (±15%) over the -55°C to +125°C temperature range. The 0603 package provides low ESR (10mOhm typical) and ESL, making it effective at bypassing high-frequency noise on power supply lines. The 100nF value provides a good balance between low-frequency energy storage and high-frequency bypass performance.
