The Murata GRM188C80E107ME01D is the industry’s first 100uF MLCC in the 0603 (1608 metric) package, rated at 2.5VDC with X6S dielectric supporting operation up to +105°C. This breakthrough product leverages Murata’s proprietary thin-layer forming and lamination technology to achieve approximately 2.1x the capacitance density of previous-generation 0603 MLCCs. It enables approximately 50% board area reduction compared to equivalent 0805 solutions, allowing closer placement to AI accelerator ICs for lower PDN impedance.

The GRM188C80E107ME01D uses Murata’s advanced thin-layer ceramic and internal electrode technology to achieve 100uF in the 0603 footprint. The X6S dielectric supports operation from -55°C to +105°C with capacitance variation within ±22%. This extended temperature range compared to X5R allows the capacitor to be placed near high-power ICs that generate significant heat, such as AI GPUs and TPUs. The ultra-thin dielectric layers and optimized electrode design maximize the capacitance per unit volume while maintaining reliability.
