The GRM155R60J475ME87D is a Murata Electronics multilayer ceramic capacitor offering 4.7 uF at 6.3 VDC with X5R dielectric in a 0402 package. It provides stable capacitance within +/-15% over the -55 to +85 deg C range, with a dissipation factor of 0.1 maximum. The compact 1.0 x 0.5 x 0.5 mm footprint suits high-density PCB layouts in smartphones, tablets, and IoT devices. The nickel barrier and tin-plated terminations ensure excellent solderability and reliability.

The GRM155R60J475ME87D is fabricated using Murata’s advanced thin-layer ceramic technology. Multiple ceramic dielectric layers (X5R BaTiO3-based formulation) are interleaved with nickel internal electrodes and co-fired into a monolithic chip. The 0402 package dimensions (1.0 x 0.5 mm) are achieved through precision tape casting and lamination of extremely thin dielectric sheets. The external electrodes use a copper base with nickel barrier and matte tin plating for solderability and whisker prevention. The X5R dielectric achieves its temperature stability through rare-earth dopant optimization of the barium titanate crystalline structure.
