The dual-core architecture separates application and radio processing, ensuring reliable wireless performance while executing application code.

The CC2640R2F-QW1 operates as an integrated wireless MCU:

1. Dual-Core Architecture: The ARM Cortex-M3 runs the application code and BLE stack (up to 48MHz), while the dedicated ARM Cortex-M0 radio core handles RF protocol timing and physical layer operations independently. This separation ensures deterministic radio timing regardless of application load.

2. Bluetooth 5.0 Radio: The 2.4GHz radio supports BLE 5.0 features including 2Mbps data rate, longer range mode (125kbps/500kbps coded PHY), and advertising extensions. The RF front-end includes a built-in balun, requiring only an external antenna matching network.

3. Power Management: Multiple low-power modes allow the device to operate for years on coin cells. Standby current is 1.1uA with RTC running. The power management controller handles automatic transitions between active and sleep modes.

4. Peripheral Integration: UART, SPI, I2C, 12-bit ADC, and 15 GPIO pins provide complete system integration capability. The sensor controller can autonomously sample sensors while the main CPU sleeps.
