The AP62200WU-7 is a Diodes Incorporated 2A synchronous buck converter with 4.2V to 18V input range and integrated 90mΩ/65mΩ MOSFETs. Using COT control, it achieves fast transient response with minimal output voltage ripple. A proprietary gate driver scheme reduces switching node ringing and high-frequency EMI noise. The device supports PFM/PWM mode for high light-load efficiency (84% at 5mA), includes 2.5ms internal soft-start, and features comprehensive protection. The TSOT-26 package enables compact, low-profile designs.

The AP62200WU-7 uses Constant On-Time (COT) control where the high-side MOSFET turns on for a calculated fixed duration based on VIN/VOUT ratio when the FB voltage falls below the internal reference. The low-side synchronous MOSFET then conducts the inductor current during the off-time. In PFM mode at light loads, the device reduces switching frequency to maintain efficiency. The proprietary gate driver slows the MOSFET turn-on/turn-off edges slightly to dampen ringing on the switch node, reducing high-frequency radiated EMI without significantly impacting switching losses. The valley current limit monitors the low-side current on a cycle-by-cycle basis, and hiccup mode activates if an overcurrent condition persists.
