The AD5320BRTZ-REEL7 is an Analog Devices single-channel, 12-bit buffered voltage output DAC operating from a +2.7 V to +5.5 V single supply. It consumes only 140 µA at 5 V (115 µA at 3 V) and features rail-to-rail output swing, a 30 MHz serial interface, and three power-down modes. The device is packaged in a 6-lead SOT-23 and is pin-compatible with the AD5300 (8-bit) and AD5310 (10-bit) versions.

The AD5320BRTZ-REEL7 is an Analog Devices single-channel 12-bit buffered voltage output DAC operating from a single +2.7 V to +5.5 V supply. It consumes only 115 µA at 3 V, making it ideal for battery-powered applications. The on-chip precision output amplifier enables rail-to-rail output swing. A versatile 3-wire serial interface operates at clock rates up to 30 MHz, compatible with SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP standards. The reference is derived from the power supply, giving the widest dynamic output range. Power-on-reset ensures the DAC output powers up to 0 V, and three power-down modes reduce current to 200 nA.

The AD5320 operates as a 12-bit digital-to-analog converter with four subsystems: (1) The serial interface receives 16-bit data words (2 control bits + 12 data bits + 2 don’t-care bits) via a 3-wire SPI-compatible interface at up to 30 MHz clock rate. (2) The resistor-string DAC core converts the 12-bit digital code to an analog voltage using a segmented R-2R architecture, guaranteed monotonic by design. (3) The output buffer amplifier provides rail-to-rail output swing with a slew rate of 1 V/µs and can drive loads directly. (4) The power-down logic, controlled by DB13 and DB12, selects between normal operation and three power-down modes (1 kΩ to GND, 100 kΩ to GND, or three-state), reducing supply current to 200 nA.
