The LT6105IDCB#TRPBF from Analog Devices is a high-side current sense amplifier that operates with common mode voltages from 2.7V to 105V, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial, automotive, and telecom power supply monitoring applications. The 1 MHz bandwidth supports fast overcurrent detection and switching power supply current mode control. The +/-0.3% gain accuracy and +/-300 uV maximum input offset voltage provide precise current measurement for fuel gauging and efficiency monitoring. The 100 dB minimum CMRR ensures accurate measurement even with large common mode voltage swings. The gain is set by two external resistors, allowing the designer to optimize the output voltage range for the ADC. The #TRPBF suffix indicates lead-free tape and reel packaging from ADI. This is the tape-and-reel version of the LT6105IDCB.

The LT6105 uses a precision difference amplifier to measure the voltage across an external sense resistor in the high-side power path. The inputs (V+ and V-) connect across the sense resistor and see the common mode voltage (up to 105V). An internal level-shifting network attenuates the common mode voltage while preserving the differential sense voltage. The attenuated signal is amplified by the internal gain stage, with the final gain determined by the ratio of two external resistors: Gain = RIN/RSENSE x ROUT/RIN. The output voltage is VOUT = ISENSE x RSENSE x Gain. The 1 MHz bandwidth is achieved through a wideband internal amplifier. The 100 dB CMRR is maintained by laser-trimmed resistor networks that ensure precise matching of the input attenuation paths. The 260 uA supply current powers the internal amplifier and level-shifting circuitry. The output is a voltage referenced to the device ground, compatible with ADC inputs.
