The device operates from a single supply range of 1.8 V to 5.5 V, making it compatible with a wide range of logic families and ideal for battery-powered applications. The 2.5 ohm typical on-resistance with 0.75 ohm flatness ensures minimal signal distortion and consistent performance across the full rail-to-rail signal range. The -3 dB bandwidth exceeds 200 MHz, supporting high-frequency signal routing in communication systems. Each switch conducts equally well in both directions, and the break-before-make switching action prevents momentary short circuits during channel transitions. The 6-lead SC70 package provides an extremely compact footprint for space-constrained designs.

The ADG779BKSZ-REEL7 operates as a CMOS transmission gate switch with three functional elements: (1) The control logic interface accepts a TTL/CMOS-compatible digital input (IN) that selects between the two signal paths. When IN is low, the normally closed (NC) path connects the common (D) terminal to the NC terminal; when IN is high, the normally open (NO) path connects D to the NO terminal. (2) The CMOS transmission gate uses parallel N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs to achieve rail-to-rail signal handling with low and relatively flat on-resistance across the entire signal range. The complementary MOSFET structure ensures that the combined on-resistance remains approximately constant as the signal voltage varies. (3) The break-before-make timing circuit ensures that the currently conducting switch turns off before the alternate switch turns on, preventing signal glitching and momentary short circuits between the two signal paths. The 6 ns turn-off time and 20 ns turn-on time enable fast multiplexing in high-speed applications.
