The 24AA64 communicates via the I2C protocol using SDA (data) and SCL (clock) lines. The device address is set by three address pins (A0, A1, A2), allowing up to 8 devices on the same bus. Write operations are initiated by sending the device address followed by the memory address and data bytes. The 32-byte page write buffer allows writing up to 32 bytes in a single operation. Read operations can be sequential (current address read) or random (random read with address specification). The hardware write-protect pin prevents accidental data modification.
