The ZX279127 from Diodes Incorporated is an ADSL2+/VDSL2 line driver and receiver IC in a LQFP-64 package. The device integrates the differential line driver with +20.5dBm output power for ADSL2+ and the differential receiver for upstream signal detection. It supports VDSL2 profiles up to 35b with 30MHz bandwidth. Programmable transmit gain and receive attenuation allow optimization for different loop lengths. Internal power management supports low-power idle modes for energy-efficient operation. The device is designed for xDSL CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) modems and residential gateways.

The ZX279127 integrates the analog front-end for xDSL transceivers. (1) Line Driver: A differential power amplifier drives the telephone line through a transformer coupling network. The driver delivers +20.5dBm for ADSL2+ with programmable gain. (2) Line Receiver: A differential receiver amplifies the upstream signal from the telephone line with programmable attenuation and filtering. (3) Hybrid: An internal hybrid circuit cancels the transmit signal from the receive path, preventing self-interference. (4) Power Management: The device supports multiple power states including full-power active, low-power idle (L2/L3 for ADSL2+), and shutdown modes. (5) Protection: Internal ESD protection and overvoltage clamping protect the line interface from transient events.
