The TMP275AIDGKR from Texas Instruments is a high-accuracy digital temperature sensor with I2C/SMBus interface in a VSSOP-8 package. It offers +/-0.5C accuracy from 0C to 60C with 12-bit (0.0625C) temperature resolution. The device operates from 2.7V to 5.5V with only 45uA active current. Three address pins allow up to 8 devices on a single I2C bus. A programmable over-temperature alert (OS) output with configurable polarity and fault queue provides interrupt-driven thermal monitoring without continuous polling.

The TMP275AIDGKR uses a bandgap temperature-sensing element that generates a voltage proportional to absolute temperature (PTAT). This voltage is digitized by a delta-sigma ADC with 12-bit resolution (0.0625C per LSB). The result is stored in a read-only temperature register accessible via I2C. The OS (Over-temperature Shutdown/Alert) comparator compares the measured temperature against programmable T_high and T_low thresholds stored in configuration registers. When the temperature exceeds T_high or drops below T_low, the OS pin asserts. The fault queue prevents false triggers from transient temperature spikes.
