The Infineon TLE9201SG is a single half-bridge motor driver designed for automotive and industrial DC motor control applications. It integrates a power output stage with 150 mΩ total RDS(on) (high-side + low-side) capable of delivering 6 A continuous current. Control and diagnostics are performed via a 16-bit SPI interface, enabling precise motor positioning and real-time fault detection including overtemperature, short circuit, and open load conditions. The device is AEC-Q100 Grade 0 qualified, supporting junction temperatures up to 150°C for demanding under-hood automotive applications such as flap actuators, pump drives, and HVAC vent controls.

The TLE9201SG operates as a single half-bridge motor driver controlled through a 16-bit SPI interface. The power stage consists of a high-side and low-side NMOS transistor pair with 150 mΩ combined on-resistance. The SPI interface writes control bits to set the output state (HIGH, LOW, or HIGH-Z) and reads back diagnostic status flags. Protection circuits continuously monitor junction temperature, output current, and load conditions. Overtemperature triggers a thermal shutdown above 170°C. Short circuit protection limits current and latches off the output. Open load detection identifies disconnected loads during the off-state. Cross-current prevention ensures both switches are never simultaneously on.
