The TLE9183QKXUMA1 is an Infineon MOTIX™ advanced 3-phase gate driver IC for automotive BLDC motor drives. It controls 6 external N-channel MOSFETs with powerful 2A driver stages, supports 0-100% duty cycle without restriction, and integrates 3 current sense amplifiers. ISO 26262 ASIL-D compliant with secure SPI, watchdog, and limp-home functionality, it is designed for safety-critical applications such as EPS, electric pumps, and HVAC blowers in 12V automotive systems.

The TLE9183QKXUMA1 operates as a 3-phase bridge gate driver with dual charge pump plus bootstrap supply concept. Charge pump 1 supplies the low-side drivers and provides voltage doubling at low supply voltages, enabling operation down to 5.5V. The bootstrap diode and charge pump 2 ensure high-side gate drive even at 95-100% duty cycle. Three current sense amplifiers condition the phase shunt voltages for current measurement and overcurrent detection. The SPI interface provides real-time configuration, monitoring register readout, and detailed diagnostics including FET temperature via reverse diode measurement. The safety architecture includes redundant disable paths (ENA, SOFF), CRC-protected SPI, integrated window watchdog, and functional independent current sense and phase feedback.
