The STM32F427ZIT6 is built around the Arm Cortex-M4F core with a built-in floating-point unit (single-precision) and DSP/SIMD instructions. The ART Accelerator uses an instruction cache, literal cache, and prefetch queue to eliminate wait states when executing from Flash at 180MHz. The dual-bank Flash architecture allows one bank to execute code while the other is being programmed, enabling seamless firmware updates. The 64KB CCM RAM is directly connected to the CPU’s I-bus for deterministic zero-wait access to time-critical code. The Chrom-ART Accelerator (DMA2D) performs hardware 2D memory-to-memory transfers with pixel format conversion, alpha blending, and color keying, offloading the CPU for GUI rendering. The FMC provides a 32-bit external bus interface for SDRAM, SRAM, and LCD controllers.
