Operating at 4.9152MHz—a standard UART baud rate reference frequency—this oscillator provides both CMOS and TTL compatible output levels from a single 5V supply. The output enable (OE) function allows the oscillator output to be placed in a high-impedance state when OE is pulled low, enabling clock gating for power management. The C grade tolerance specifies ±100ppm frequency stability across the -20°C to +70°C operating range, while frequency aging is specified at ±5ppm per year. The 4-SOJ package with 5.08mm pitch provides a compact surface-mount footprint compatible with half-size metal can oscillator pinouts.

The SG-615P4.9152MC3 is a simple packaged crystal oscillator (SPXO) that uses an AT-cut quartz crystal resonator as the frequency-determining element. The crystal resonator operates in its fundamental thickness-shear mode at 4.9152MHz, providing a highly stable reference frequency. An internal sustaining amplifier circuit maintains oscillation by compensating for energy losses in the crystal, while automatic gain control ensures stable amplitude. The output stage provides both CMOS-level (50% VCC threshold) and TTL-level (1.4V threshold) compatible signals. The OE (Output Enable) function, when pulled to GND, disables the output driver placing it in a high-impedance state while reducing current consumption to 12mA maximum. The oscillator starts within 4ms of power application.
