The S1MB-13-F is a standard recovery silicon rectifier diode using glass-passivated (GPP) die technology. In forward bias, current flows from anode to cathode with a voltage drop of approximately 1.1V. In reverse bias, the device blocks current up to 1000V with only 5μA leakage. When transitioning from forward to reverse bias, stored charge in the silicon must be swept out before the diode blocks, resulting in a 3μs reverse recovery time. The glass passivation provides reliable junction protection over the full -65°C to +150°C operating range.
