The PEX8609-BA50BCG from Broadcom is an 8-lane 8-port PCIe Gen 2 switch with 4-channel DMA, non-transparent bridging, 140ns cut-through latency, Dual Cast, and ACS in a 196-ball PBGA package. Obsolete; PEX8713 is recommended replacement.

The PEX8609 implements a PCIe switching fabric routing TLPs between up to 8 configurable ports. It supports transparent bridging for standard enumeration and NTB for dual-host configurations. The 4-channel DMA engine performs memory-to-memory, device-to-device, and memory-to-device transfers up to 128MB per descriptor without CPU involvement. Cut-through switching begins forwarding before a packet is fully received.
