The O 48.00000-JO75-B-3.3-1 LF from Jauch Quartz is a 48.000 MHz HCMOS crystal oscillator in the JO75 7.0 x 5.0mm surface-mount package with 3.3V supply and ±50ppm frequency stability (B code). The 48 MHz frequency is critical for USB 2.0 Hi-Speed applications, where the oscillator provides the reference clock for the USB PHY. The JO75 series features a stop function where pin 1 controls the oscillator output: when pin 1 is driven low (VIL less than 0.2 x VDC), the oscillator stops and the output goes to high impedance, reducing current consumption to 20uA max for power-saving modes. When pin 1 is open or driven high, the oscillator runs normally. The B stability code specifies ±50ppm total stability including tolerance at 25C, temperature variation over -20C to +70C, supply voltage change, aging, shock and vibration. The 15pF output load (code 1) is the standard for most CMOS clock inputs. The ceramic/metal seam-sealed package ensures excellent hermeticity and long-term frequency stability with phase jitter below 1ps RMS.

The O 48.00000-JO75-B-3.3-1 LF operates as a crystal oscillator (XO) where an internal AT-cut quartz crystal resonator is combined with a sustaining amplifier and output buffer in a single package. This allows system power management to shut down the clock during sleep modes, reducing supply current from 50mA to 20uA. The start-up time of 10ms maximum is the time from VDC exceeding the minimum threshold (or pin 1 going high) until the output achieves stable oscillation with correct frequency and amplitude.
