The NRF52832-CIAA-R from Nordic Semiconductor is a powerful ultra-low-power multiprotocol wireless SoC in a wafer-level chip-scale package. It combines a 64 MHz ARM Cortex-M4F processor with 512KB Flash and 64KB RAM alongside a best-in-class 2.4GHz radio transceiver supporting Bluetooth 5, ANT, and proprietary 2.4GHz protocols. The on-chip balun enables single-ended antenna connection without external matching components. With 0.3 µA System OFF current and flexible power management including integrated DC/DC and LDO, this device sets the benchmark for low-power wireless performance in the smallest possible footprint.

The NRF52832-CIAA-R integrates three major subsystems: the ARM Cortex-M4F processor with memory and debug, the 2.4GHz multi-protocol radio, and the peripheral and power management system. The CPU executes application code and Nordic SoftDevice protocol stacks from Flash with caching. The radio subsystem uses a fractional-N frequency synthesizer and GFSK modulator/demodulator for 1 Mbps and 2 Mbps on-air data rates. The PPI (Programmable Peripheral Interconnect) enables autonomous peripheral operation without CPU intervention, reducing power consumption. The power management system automatically selects between LDO and DC/DC regulation based on voltage and load conditions. The NFC-A tag subsystem enables touch-to-pair functionality through an external antenna coil.
