Part of the scalable MPQ8632 family (4A to 20A), it shares the same QFN-16 (3x4mm) footprint as the 4A/6A/10A/12A variants, enabling easy current scaling without PCB redesign.

The MPQ8632GLE-8-Z is an MPS 18V, 8A fully integrated synchronous step-down converter using adaptive COT control for ultrafast transient response. Part of the scalable MPQ8632 family, the 4A/6A/8A/10A/12A variants share the same QFN-16 (3x4mm) footprint, enabling current scaling without PCB redesign. The switching frequency is programmable from 200kHz to 1MHz via an external resistor, with feed-forward compensation for nearly constant frequency across the input range. Features include 0.5% reference accuracy, programmable soft-start, pre-bias start-up, and comprehensive protection.

The MPQ8632GLE-8-Z uses adaptive constant-on-time (COT) control where the high-side MOSFET turns on for a calculated duration when the FB voltage drops below the reference. The on-time is programmed by the R_FREQ resistor and adaptively adjusted based on VIN and VOUT to maintain approximately constant switching frequency. The feed-forward from VIN through the R_FREQ resistor compensates for input voltage variations. The integrated low-side MOSFET provides synchronous rectification for high efficiency. The internal 4.8V LDO powers the driver and control circuits, or external 5V bias can override it for low VIN operation down to 2.5V. Non-latch OCP monitors valley current, OVP protects against output overvoltage, and thermal shutdown activates at approximately 160°C.
