The BTS5120-2EKA is an Infineon PROFET™+ 12V dual-channel smart high-side power switch in a PG-DSO-14-40 EP (exposed pad) package. Each channel features 120mΩ typical on-resistance, 2.5A nominal load current (2A with both channels), proportional load current sensing (kILIS=550), and comprehensive protection. AEC qualified and built on Smart6 technology, designed for automotive lamp driving up to 1x10W and LEDs.

The BTS5120-2EKA is an Infineon PROFET™+ 12V dual-channel smart high-side power switch in a PG-DSO-14-40 EP package. Each channel features 120mΩ typical on-resistance, 2.5A nominal load current at 85°C, and proportional current sensing with kILIS=550. Built on Smart6 technology, it provides over-temperature protection with controlled restart, over-current protection with intelligent restart, open/short load detection with stable diagnostic signal during short circuit, undervoltage shutdown, and reverse polarity protection. AEC qualified for automotive lamp driving (up to 1x10W bulbs and LEDs), solenoid control, and body electronics.

The BTS5120-2EKA operates as a dual-channel smart high-side power switch. Each channel contains a power DMOS transistor, charge pump, and protection/diagnostic circuitry. The INx pins control channel on/off. The charge pump generates a gate voltage above the supply rail to drive the N-channel DMOS. The IS pin provides a proportional current sense output: the sense current equals the load current divided by kILIS (550), allowing MCU current monitoring. The DEN and DSEL pins control diagnostic output. Over-temperature protection activates at 170°C typ. with 20°C hysteresis for controlled restart. Over-current protection trips at 9A min (12A typ.) with intelligent restart that limits RMS current during persistent faults to 2A. The enhanced kILIS dependency feature provides more accurate current sensing across temperature and load current ranges. The voltage-dependent current limitation reduces fault current at higher supply voltages for enhanced safety.
