The MPQ3362GRE-AEC1 is a Monolithic Power Systems AEC-Q100 qualified 4-channel constant current LED driver designed for automotive lighting applications. It supports up to 45V LED voltage and 200mA per channel, with both I2C and direct PWM dimming interfaces. The 12-bit I2C dimming resolution and phase-shift capability provide smooth brightness control and reduced input ripple. Comprehensive diagnostics include open LED, short LED, and thermal fault detection. Packaged in a thermally efficient SOIC-16 EP, it is ideal for automotive ambient, tail, and DRL lighting.

The MPQ3362GRE-AEC1 operates as a 4-channel constant current sink LED driver. Each channel uses a low-side N-channel MOSFET to regulate the LED current through a sense resistor or internal current regulation loop. The I2C interface allows individual channel current programming with 12-bit resolution, while the direct PWM input provides 8-bit dimming for fast brightness modulation. Phase-shift PWM operation distributes the switching events across channels to minimize peak input current and reduce EMI. Open LED detection monitors each channel for disconnection, while short LED detection identifies fault conditions. The thermal shutdown protects against excessive junction temperature.
