The MLG0603P12NHTZ10 from TDK is a 12 nH high-frequency wirewound chip inductor in a 0603 (1608 metric) surface-mount package. With +/-5% tolerance, 0.45 Ohm maximum DCR, and self-resonant frequency above 6 GHz, it is optimized for RF impedance matching and resonance circuits in wireless communication systems. The 700 mA rated current supports moderate-power RF signal paths. Operating from -55 to +125 deg C, it is suitable for automotive infotainment and industrial wireless applications.

The MLG0603P12NHTZ10 uses TDK’s precision wirewound construction where a fine copper wire is wound around a ceramic core in the 0603 package. The wirewound topology provides higher Q factor than multilayer ceramic inductors at VHF/UHF frequencies, as the copper winding has lower resistive loss than the thick-film conductors used in multilayer types. The 12 nH inductance is determined by the number of turns, core geometry, and wire spacing. The self-resonant frequency (SRF) occurs when the parasitic winding capacitance resonates with the inductance; above the SRF, the device behaves capacitively. The ceramic core provides mechanical stability and temperature coefficient control.
