The MIC5219-3.3YM5-TR is a 500 mA peak-output ultra-low-noise LDO linear regulator from Microchip (formerly Micrel) in a SOT-23-5 package. It provides a fixed 3.3 V output with +/-1% accuracy from a 2.5 V to 12 V input. The BYP pin with an external 470 pF capacitor enables ultra-low output noise for RF-sensitive applications. Near-zero shutdown current (<1 μA) and CMOS/TTL-compatible enable control make it ideal for battery-powered and portable devices.

The MIC5219-3.3YM5-TR is a 500mA peak-output ultra-low-noise LDO from Microchip (formerly Micrel) in SOT-23-5 package. Fixed 3.3V output with +/-1% accuracy. 350mV typical dropout at 500mA and 80uA quiescent current. BYP pin with 470pF capacitor enables ultra-low noise for RF applications. Near-zero shutdown current (<1uA). CMOS/TTL-compatible enable pin. Current limit, thermal shutdown, and reverse-battery protection included.

The MIC5219 uses a CMOS P-channel MOSFET pass element, so ground current does not increase significantly with load unlike bipolar LDOs. A bandgap reference provides a precise voltage reference; the error amplifier compares the feedback voltage with the reference and drives the P-MOSFET gate to regulate the output. The BYP pin connects to the internal reference; a 470pF capacitor filters reference noise for ultra-low output noise. EN pin controls the P-MOSFET; shutdown reduces ground current to near-zero. Current limit and thermal shutdown protect against faults.
