The MAX4230AXK+T from Analog Devices (Maxim) is a single high-output-drive CMOS operational amplifier in SC70-5 package. The 200mA peak output drive capability enables direct driving of low-impedance loads such as headphones, transformers, and RF power amplifier bias circuits. The 10MHz GBW and 10V/us slew rate provide ample bandwidth for audio and medium-frequency applications. Rail-to-rail input and output swings maximize dynamic range in single-supply configurations. A shutdown mode reduces supply current below 1uA for battery-powered applications.

The MAX4230AXK+T operates as a single CMOS operational amplifier with high output drive. (1) The CMOS input stage provides rail-to-rail common-mode range with ultra-low input bias current (1-50pA). The complementary N-channel and P-channel input pairs handle the full supply range without crossover distortion. The 850uV offset voltage is suitable for most precision applications. (2) The output stage uses large MOSFETs capable of sourcing/sinking 200mA peak current while maintaining rail-to-rail output swing. The output remains stable with capacitive loads up to 780pF without external compensation. (3) The shutdown feature disconnects the amplifier from the supply, reducing current below 1uA. The output enters a high-impedance state in shutdown, allowing output multiplexing. The amplifier does not exhibit phase reversal when input voltage exceeds the supply rails.
