The MAX16910CATA8/V+T is an Analog Devices (Maxim) ultra-low quiescent current linear regulator optimized for automotive and battery-powered always-on applications. Operating from 3.5V to 30V input with 45V transient tolerance, it delivers up to 200 mA with only 20 uA quiescent current. The output is user-configurable as fixed 3.3V, fixed 5V, or adjustable from 1.5V to 11V. An integrated open-drain RESET output with adjustable delay eliminates the need for a separate supervisor IC.

The MAX16910 operates as a series-pass linear regulator with three functional blocks: (1) Voltage Regulation — a precision bandgap reference feeds an error amplifier that controls the series pass transistor to maintain the output voltage. The SET and SETOV pins configure fixed (3.3V/5V) or adjustable mode; (2) Reset Supervisor — an open-drain RESET comparator monitors the output voltage against 87.5% or 92.5% thresholds, asserting RESET low during brown-out and startup with an adjustable delay set by an external capacitor; (3) Protection — short-circuit current limit and thermal shutdown protect the device under fault conditions. The enable input allows shutdown to 1.6 uA supply current.
