With 631 nm dominant wavelength, 54 mcd typical luminous intensity, and 130-degree wide viewing angle, it provides bright and uniform indication. The 2.0 V typical forward voltage at 20 mA allows direct drive from 3.3 V or 5 V logic with a simple series resistor. The water-clear lens provides high contrast in both lit and unlit states. Operating from -55 to +85 deg C, it suits consumer, industrial, and automotive infotainment applications.

The LTST-C191KRKT uses an AlInGaP (Aluminum Indium Gallium Phosphide) epitaxial structure grown on a GaAs substrate. The double heterojunction design confines carriers within the active region, producing efficient red light emission at 631 nm. The p-n junction is formed by epitaxial growth of p-type and n-type AlGaInP layers. When forward-biased, electrons and holes recombine in the active region, emitting photons via radiative recombination. The water-clear epoxy lens directs light with a 130-degree viewing angle through total internal reflection at the epoxy-air interface. The luminous intensity is binned (grades M through R) for consistent appearance in multi-LED applications.
