The LM7321MFX/NOPB from Texas Instruments is a single-channel rail-to-rail input/output operational amplifier offering 20MHz gain bandwidth product and 12V/us slew rate. A key differentiator is its ability to drive unlimited capacitive loads while maintaining stability, making it ideal for ADC input buffers and cable driving applications where load capacitance is unknown or variable. The device delivers +/-30mA output current and operates from 2.7V to 32V single supply or +/-15V dual supply. The MFX suffix denotes SOT-23-5 package and NOPB indicates lead-free (Pb-free) finish. Note: This device is no longer in production; the LM7321MAX/NOPB is the recommended replacement.

The LM7321MFX/NOPB operates as a voltage feedback operational amplifier with rail-to-rail input and output stages. (1) The input stage uses complementary NPN and PNP differential pairs in parallel, allowing the common-mode input range to extend from the negative to the positive supply rail. When the input approaches either rail, one differential pair takes over from the other seamlessly. (2) The output stage uses a push-pull Class AB architecture with rail-to-rail output swing, capable of delivering +/-30mA while driving unlimited capacitive loads. Stability with any capacitive load is achieved through an internal compensation network that adapts to the load impedance. (3) The 20MHz bandwidth and 12V/us slew rate make the device suitable for audio and medium-frequency signal processing. The 1.5mA supply current per amplifier provides a good speed-to-power ratio.
