The GRM21BR61C106KE15L uses Murata’s advanced thin-layer MLCC technology with X5R dielectric to achieve 10uF in the 0805 package. The X5R dielectric provides higher capacitance density than X7R at the cost of a narrower temperature range (-55°C to +85°C vs. +125°C). The ±10% tolerance provides tighter capacitance control than the ±20% typically offered for 10uF MLCCs, enabling more predictable filter performance. Note that DC bias effect reduces effective capacitance at higher operating voltages.
