The TL082BCDT is a STMicroelectronics dual JFET-input operational amplifier in an 8-pin SOIC package, BC grade with improved offset specification. The JFET input stage provides 30pA typical input bias current, four orders of magnitude lower than bipolar-input op amps like the LM358, making the TL082 ideal for high-impedance signal sources such as piezoelectric sensors, photodiodes, and capacitor-coupled audio circuits. The 3MHz GBW and 13V/us slew rate provide bandwidth and speed for audio signal processing, active filters up to several hundred kHz, and moderate-speed data acquisition. The +/-3.5V to +/-18V dual supply range supports the traditional +/-15V analog rail for maximum dynamic range. The BC grade provides 3mV maximum input offset voltage, tighter than the standard B grade (5mV) and C grade (10mV). The TL082 is a pin-compatible upgrade of the industry-standard TL082 with improved specifications. The high input impedance and low bias current make it well-suited for integrators, sample-and-hold circuits, and long-time-constant filters. Packaged in SOIC-8 for commercial 0C to +70C applications.

The TL082 uses a JFET-input differential pair as the input stage. N-channel JFETs provide very high input impedance (typically 10^12 ohms) and extremely low gate leakage current (30pA). The JFET input stage drives a bipolar gain stage with 3MHz dominant-pole compensation. The 13V/us slew rate is set by the available tail current in the input stage to charge the compensation capacitor. In a JFET-input op amp, the slew rate is typically higher than bipolar-input types because the JFET tail current can be larger relative to the compensation capacitor value. The class-AB output stage uses complementary NPN/PNP emitter followers with current limiting and short-circuit protection. The offset voltage is determined by the JFET pair matching; the BC grade is selected for 3mV maximum offset through wafer-level testing. The TL082 does not have offset null pins (unlike TL081 single version), so external offset correction requires a servo loop if needed. The device is internally compensated for unity-gain stability.
