The RM46L852CPGET implements TI’s Hercules safety architecture with dual ARM Cortex-R4F CPUs operating in lockstep. Both CPUs execute identical instruction streams; any divergence triggers the Error Signaling Module (ESM). The 8-stage pipeline Cortex-R4F includes single/double-precision floating-point unit (FPU) for compute-intensive control algorithms. All Flash (1.25 MB) and SRAM (192 KB) are protected by ECC with single-bit error correction and double-bit error detection. Built-In Self-Test (BIST) runs at startup and can be scheduled during operation to verify CPU and RAM integrity. The N2HET (Next Generation High-End Timer) coprocessors are software-programmable timing processors with dedicated instruction RAM, executing timing operations independently of the main CPU. The crossbar interconnect provides deterministic peripheral access with arbitration prioritization. The FMPLL generates the 220 MHz system clock with a built-in slip detector for clock integrity monitoring.
