The PAM2841GR from Diodes Incorporated is a high-efficiency step-up (boost) DC-DC LED driver capable of driving 10 or more white LEDs in series. Operating from 2.7V to 5.5V input, it delivers up to 40V output with 1.5A switch current. The device features both analog and PWM dimming control in a compact 8-pin DFN 2×2 package, switching at a fixed 1 MHz frequency with up to 90% efficiency.

The PAM2841GR from Diodes Incorporated is a high-efficiency white LED driver designed for boost topology applications. It can drive 10 or more WLEDs in series from a 2.7V to 5.5V input supply, generating up to 40V output. The device integrates a 1.5A power switch and operates at a fixed 1 MHz switching frequency, enabling the use of small external components. Multiple dimming methods are supported including analog and PWM. Comprehensive protection includes over-current, over-voltage, UVLO, and over-temperature shutdown.

The PAM2841GR uses a current-mode boost converter architecture to step up the input voltage to drive series-connected white LEDs. The internal 1.5A power MOSFET switches at 1 MHz, storing energy in the external inductor during the on-time and transferring it to the LED string during the off-time. LED current is regulated by sensing the voltage across an external current-sense resistor. PWM dimming modulates the LED current on/off at a high frequency to control perceived brightness. The soft-start function limits inrush current during startup.
