With a reverse recovery time of just 35 ns and low forward voltage drop of 0.875V max at 1A, it is designed for high-frequency rectification, freewheeling, and protection in switch-mode power supplies and inductive load circuits. Packaged in SMB (DO-214AA) for automated handling.

The MURS120T3G from ON Semiconductor is an ultra-fast recovery surface-mount rectifier rated at 200V/2A with 35 ns reverse recovery time and 0.875V max forward voltage drop. The glass passivated junction and SMB package enable reliable high-frequency rectification and freewheeling in switch-mode power supplies, motor drives, and inductive load circuits up to 175°C junction temperature.

The MURS120T3G is a silicon ultra-fast recovery rectifier using glass passivated junction technology. During forward conduction, current flows from anode to cathode with low voltage drop (0.875V max at 1A). When the applied voltage reverses, the diode must transition from conducting to blocking state. The reverse recovery time (trr) of 35 ns is the time required for the stored minority carriers to be swept out of the junction region before the diode can block reverse voltage. This fast recovery minimizes switching losses and prevents shoot-through currents in high-frequency converter circuits. The glass passivation protects the junction surface from contamination, ensuring reliable operation at junction temperatures up to 175°C.
