The MCP602T-E/ST from Microchip Technology is a dual 2.8MHz CMOS operational amplifier with rail-to-rail output in an 8-pin TSSOP package. The E suffix denotes extended industrial temperature range (-40 to +125C) with AEC-Q100 automotive qualification. The T suffix indicates tape and reel packaging. With 2.7V to 6V supply range, 230uA per-channel quiescent current, and 1pA typical input bias current, it is optimized for low-power battery-operated and automotive applications requiring precision signal conditioning. The rail-to-rail output stage swings within millivolts of both supply rails under light loads, maximizing dynamic range in single-supply applications. The 2.8MHz GBW and 2.3V/us slew rate make it suitable for active filters and signal conditioning at moderate frequencies.

The MCP602 operates through three circuit stages per channel: (1) CMOS Differential Input: A PMOS differential pair provides the input stage with 1pA typical input bias current and 2mV maximum offset voltage. The input common-mode range extends from VSS to VDD-1.2V (not rail-to-rail input). (2) Gain Stage: A high-gain CMOS stage with internal compensation provides 2.8MHz GBW and 2.3V/us slew rate with unity-gain stability. The 115dB typical open-loop gain ensures accuracy in closed-loop applications. (3) Rail-to-Rail Output: A Class AB CMOS output stage swings to within approximately 10mV of both supply rails under light load (<10kOhm), and within 50mV under 25kOhm load. The 22mA output current capability can drive moderate loads directly. The output does not phase reverse when overdriven beyond the input common-mode range.
