The LTC4367HMS8#TRPBF is an Analog Devices (formerly Linear Technology) 100V overvoltage, undervoltage, and reverse supply protection controller in an 8-MSOP package rated for -40°C to +125°C (H grade). The device protects applications where power supply input voltages may be too high, too low, or even negative by controlling the gate voltages of a pair of external back-to-back N-channel MOSFETs, ensuring the output stays within a safe operating range. The device withstands voltages between -40V and +100V while operating from 2.5V to 60V, consuming only 70µA in normal operation and 5µA in shutdown. Two comparator inputs (UV and OV) allow configuration of undervoltage and overvoltage set points using an external resistive divider. The 32ms turn-on delay debounces hot-plug connections and blocks 50Hz/60Hz AC power, preventing damage from accidental AC connection. The SHDN pin provides external enable/disable control. The FAULT output indicates when the GATE is pulled low. The AEC-Q100 qualification makes the LTC4367 suitable for automotive load dump protection. The HMS8 suffix denotes the industrial temperature MSOP-8 package, and #TRPBF indicates tape-and-reel with Pb-free finish.

The LTC4367 monitors the input voltage through external resistive dividers connected to the UV and OV pins. When the input voltage is between the UV and OV thresholds, the GATE pin drives the gates of two external back-to-back N-channel MOSFETs to approximately 12V above the source, turning them on and connecting the input to the load. If the input voltage exceeds the OV threshold or drops below the UV threshold, the GATE pin is pulled low rapidly (within 1µs), turning off the MOSFETs and disconnecting the load. The back-to-back MOSFET configuration blocks current in both directions, providing reverse supply protection down to -40V even when the MOSFET body diodes would otherwise conduct. The 32ms turn-on delay after a fault ensures the input is stable before reconnecting, and inherently blocks AC power because the MOSFETs turn off during each half-cycle. The 70µA operating current flows through the VIN pin, and the SHDN pin reduces this to 5µA when pulled low.
