The LPS22HHTR is a STMicroelectronics ultra-low-noise piezoresistive absolute pressure sensor in a 2.5×2.5mm HLGA-4 package. The 260 to 1260hPa measurement range covers all Earth surface altitudes and weather conditions. The 0.28Pa RMS noise is among the lowest for MEMS pressure sensors, enabling high-resolution altitude measurement (approximately 2.3cm altitude resolution). The +/-0.5hPa absolute accuracy over the full temperature range provides reliable weather forecasting and altimetry. The sensor outputs 24-bit pressure and 16-bit temperature data through I2C (up to 400kHz) or SPI (up to 10MHz) interfaces. The embedded 128-sample FIFO stores pressure and temperature readings, reducing host processor read frequency and power consumption. The output data rate is programmable from 1Hz to 40Hz. The embedded temperature compensation algorithm runs automatically, applying factory-calibrated coefficients stored in on-chip OTP memory. The -HH suffix indicates the high-accuracy version. The TR suffix indicates tape-and-reel packaging. Packaged in HLGA-4 rated for -40C to +85C.

The LPS22HH uses a silicon MEMS piezoresistive pressure sensor die. A flexible silicon membrane with embedded piezoresistors deflects under applied pressure, changing the resistor values. A Wheatstone bridge circuit converts the resistance change to a differential voltage proportional to pressure. An internal 24-bit ADC digitizes the bridge output. A second temperature sensor die provides the temperature reading used for compensation. Factory calibration stores individual sensor offset, sensitivity, and temperature coefficient parameters in on-chip OTP memory. During operation, the compensation engine applies these coefficients to correct the raw pressure reading for temperature effects, producing the compensated output value. The FIFO accumulates samples at the configured ODR, with watermark, overwrite, and full interrupts. The device can be configured for one-shot mode (triggered conversion) or continuous mode for regular measurement streams. Power consumption is approximately 12uA in low-power mode at 1Hz ODR.
