The AL5802-7 from Diodes Incorporated is a linear constant-current LED driver supporting up to 60V and 350mA with external resistor current setting and thermal shutdown in SOT-89-3.

The AL5802-7 is a linear constant-current LED driver in SOT-89-3 package. It operates as a two-terminal current regulator where the LED current is set by an external resistor connected between the RSET pin and GND. The internal circuit maintains a 1.25V reference voltage across the RSET resistor, establishing the output current as ILED = 1.25V / RSET. The device acts as a self-biased current source: the NPN pass transistor absorbs the voltage difference between the input supply and the LED string forward voltage, dissipating the excess as heat. The linear topology provides flicker-free, EMI-free LED drive without switching noise. The device includes thermal shutdown protection that reduces LED current when junction temperature exceeds approximately 150C. Maximum LED current is 350mA and input voltage range extends to 60V.
