The ADS1015IDGST from Texas Instruments is a precision 12-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter featuring an integrated programmable gain amplifier (PGA), voltage reference, oscillator, and comparator. With 4 multiplexed input channels configurable as 4 single-ended or 2 differential inputs, and 8 programmable PGA gain settings from +/-6.144V to +/-0.256V full-scale, it offers exceptional flexibility for a wide range of sensor measurement applications. The I2C interface supports up to 4 unique addresses, enabling multiple devices on the same bus.

The ADS1015IDGST employs a delta-sigma conversion architecture optimized for precision measurement. **Analog Front-End**: The 4-channel input multiplexer routes selected input(s) to the PGA. The PGA provides 8 gain settings (2/3, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64x), allowing measurement of signals from +/-6.144V down to +/-0.256V full-scale. **Delta-Sigma Modulator**: A second-order delta-sigma modulator oversamples the analog input and produces a 1-bit data stream. The oversampling ratio determines the output data rate (128 to 3300 SPS). **Digital Filter**: A decimation filter processes the modulator output to produce the final 12-bit result. **Comparator Subsystem**: A programmable threshold comparator can generate an alert on the ALERT/RDY pin when conversions exceed configured limits, enabling autonomous monitoring without host polling.
