The AD5522JSVUZ-RL is a quad 16-bit parametric measurement unit (PMU) DAC from Analog Devices in TSSOP-28, designed for automated test equipment (ATE) pin electronics. Each of the four PMU channels provides independent force-voltage/measure-current (FVMI) and force-current/measure-voltage (FIMV) capabilities. In FVMI mode: the 16-bit DAC sets a voltage at the force output (FV pin), a feedback amplifier maintains this voltage at the device under test (DUT) pin via a force line, and the current flowing into/out of the DUT is measured by an internal sense resistor and ADC. In FIMV mode: the DAC sets a current level, the feedback amplifier drives the necessary voltage to force this current through the DUT, and the voltage at the DUT is measured. Each channel has a programmable force voltage range of -2V to +7V (FIN pins) or -2V to +30V (FV pins), and programmable current ranges from 2uA to 64mA. The 16-bit resolution provides 1mV steps at 5V range and 1nA steps at the 64uA current range. The COMP pins connect external 0.1uF compensation capacitors for loop stability when driving capacitive DUT loads. The SPI interface operates at up to 40MHz for fast programming. The device includes clamp functions that limit the voltage or current to prevent DUT damage.
