The CS2300CP-CZZR from Cirrus Logic is a fractional-N clock multiplier with an integrated low-jitter LC oscillator (LCO). It uses a hybrid analog-digital PLL architecture combining a delta-sigma fractional-N frequency synthesizer with a digital PLL to generate precise output clock frequencies. The device supports both I2C and SPI control interfaces and features CLK_IN skipping mode for applications with intermittent or missing reference clocks.

The CS2300CP combines an analog delta-sigma fractional-N frequency synthesizer with a digital PLL. The internal LCO provides a stable low-jitter reference clock. The fractional-N synthesizer multiplies this reference by a programmable factor N to generate the output frequency. The digital PLL compares the ratio of output and reference clocks, calculates the optimal N value, and automatically adjusts the loop filter bandwidth. The I2C interface allows bidirectional register access, while the SPI interface supports write-only operation at speeds up to 6MHz. CLK_IN skipping mode enables operation when the reference clock is intermittent.
