The CH340C from WCH is a USB-to-UART bridge IC supporting data rates up to 2Mbps in a SOP-16 package. It provides a cost-effective solution for adding USB connectivity to embedded systems, widely used in Arduino boards and debug interfaces.

The CH340C implements a USB device controller that enumerates as a virtual COM port on the host PC. USB packets are received and converted to UART serial format. The internal data buffer handles the speed mismatch between USB and UART. Configuration (baud rate, parity, stop bits) is set through the USB driver on the host side.
