The C817XNNIP0F from Sharp is a 1-channel transistor-output optocoupler with 5kV isolation, 80V VCEO, 50mA collector current, and 50% minimum CTR in a 4-pin SMD gull-wing package for signal isolation applications.

The optocoupler combines an infrared LED and a silicon phototransistor in a single package, separated by a transparent dielectric providing 5kV electrical isolation. When current flows through the LED, it emits IR light detected by the phototransistor, generating photocurrent amplified by the transistor. The CTR of 50% minimum means the output current is at least half the input LED current.
