The BSMD1206-150-6V is a 1206 surface-mount polymer PTC resettable fuse with 1.5A hold current, 6V maximum voltage, and automatic reset for low-voltage electronics overcurrent protection.

The polymer PTC device contains conductive particles dispersed in a polymer matrix. Under normal current (below 1.5A), the conductive paths provide low resistance. When overcurrent occurs, Joule heating raises the polymer temperature above its crystalline transition point, causing expansion that breaks the conductive paths and dramatically increases resistance. When the fault is removed and the device cools, the polymer contracts and the conductive paths reform, resetting the device to its low-resistance state.
