Operating from 1.7V to 5.5V, it supports I2C bus speeds up to 1MHz for fast data access. The device features a 64-byte page write buffer, hardware write protection via the WP pin, and Schmitt trigger filtered inputs for robust noise immunity. With 1 million write cycle endurance and 100-year data retention, it is designed for critical parameter and configuration storage in industrial, consumer, and networking applications.

The AT24C256C uses a floating-gate EEPROM cell array organized as 32,768 x 8 bits. Communication occurs via the I2C protocol with device address bits A0-A2 enabling up to 8 devices on the same bus. Read operations can be random or sequential. Write operations use a 64-byte page write buffer that programs up to 64 bytes in a single 5ms internal write cycle. The WP pin provides hardware data protection by preventing write operations when held high. Schmitt trigger inputs filter noise on SCL and SDA lines for reliable communication in noisy environments.
