The VN5160STR-E from ST is a single-channel OmniPROM high-side driver with 40V 4A rating, current sense, and thermal shutdown in PowerSSO-24 for automotive loads.

The VN5160STR-E is a single-channel OmniPROM high-side power switch from ST in PowerSSO-24. It integrates a vertical N-channel power MOSFET with charge-pump gate driver and protection logic. The charge pump generates a gate voltage above VS to fully enhance the MOSFET, achieving 60mOhm RDS(on) at 25C. When INPUT is driven high, the charge pump activates and the MOSFET turns on, connecting VS to OUT. The CS pin provides a current proportional to the load current (typically 1/17000 ratio), enabling microcontroller-based current monitoring without a shunt resistor. Protection includes: current limitation at 25A, thermal shutdown with auto-restart, over-voltage clamp, and loss-of-GND protection. The DG diagnostic pin reports fault conditions (over-temperature, over-current, open-load). The device is qualified for automotive applications per AEC-Q100.
