The ST1S10PUR is a 3A synchronous step-down DC-DC converter from STMicroelectronics featuring integrated P-channel/N-channel power MOSFETs. Operating at a fixed 1.5MHz switching frequency, it enables the use of tiny inductors and capacitors, resulting in a compact solution footprint. The device accepts input voltages from 2.7V to 5.5V and delivers an adjustable output from 0.8V to 5.5V at up to 3A, achieving peak efficiency of 95%.

The ST1S10PUR employs a pulse-width modulation (PWM) control architecture with a fixed 1.5MHz oscillator. The high-side P-channel MOSFET and low-side N-channel MOSFET are alternately switched to transfer energy from input to output through an external inductor. The feedback network compares a fraction of the output voltage with an internal 0.8V reference, adjusting the duty cycle to maintain regulation. In dropout conditions, the high-side MOSFET can operate at 100% duty cycle. Internal soft-start limits inrush current, while cycle-by-cycle current limit and thermal shutdown provide robust fault protection.
