The UCC3895PW is a BiCMOS advanced phase-shift PWM controller from Texas Instruments designed for full-bridge power converter applications. It is functionally identical to the UCC2895 but specified for the 0°C to 70°C commercial temperature range. The device controls a full-bridge power stage by phase-shifting the switching of one half-bridge relative to the other, enabling constant-frequency PWM with resonant zero-voltage switching for high efficiency. The UCC3895 maintains compatibility with the UC3875/6/7/8 family while adding enhanced control logic, adaptive delay set, and shutdown capability. The BCDMOS process significantly reduces supply current compared to bipolar alternatives.

The UCC3895PW generates four complementary output drive signals (OUTA/B and OUTC/D) for the two half-bridge legs of a full-bridge converter. Phase shift between the two legs controls power transfer. An external RT resistor programs the oscillator frequency (up to 1 MHz), while an external CT capacitor sets the timing ramp. The error amplifier (7 MHz GBW) processes the output voltage feedback. Programmable delays (DELAB/DELCD) between complementary output pairs enable ZVS transitions. The ADS pin allows adaptive delay modulation based on load conditions. Current-mode control is implemented via the CS and RAMP pins. The SS/DISB pin combines soft-start and shutdown functionality.
